About the event
With Sharon Blackie and Angharad Wynne
In this latest edition of Sharon Blackie's 'The Bone Cave', the women of The Mabinogion cast their enchantments upon us. The magical tales collected together within The Mabinogion constitute our earliest British prose stories, compiled in Middle Welsh in the 12th–13th centuries from earlier oral traditions. They are constructed around the few fragments of pre-Christian myth and folklore which remain to us.
In this gathering, we’ll explore the stories of Rhiannon, Branwen, Blodeuwedd and Arianrhod, and think about what these vividly drawn Otherworldly women have to offer us today.
Our gathering will take place via Zoom, in a format which enables us to enjoy each other’s faces, and to break out into discussion groups to deepen our connections with other participants. The session includes story, poetry, teachings, participant discussion groups, and creative prompts.
Cost: £40
